BlackBerry on Monday said that it’s making a few of its privacy and security features inside BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) free for all users on BlackBerry, iOS and Android. The features were previously only available to folks who paid for BlackBerry’s BBM subscription.
The two features now available to all include Retract, Timer and Private Chat. Retract lets you pull a previously sent message from BBM, even if it has already arrived on the receiver’s smartphone. Timer allows entire messages, including photos and location data, to vanish after a preset amount of time. Private Chat removes your name from the chat log entirely, so folks won’t be able to attribute messages to you if they decide to print or send the conversation to someone else.
The new version also includes various changes depending on the platform you use it on; you can read about those features at the source link below.
