Huawei unveiled its pressure-sensitive Mate S just a few weeks ahead of the iPhone 6s, making it the first phone to officially promise the new feature. So what does the company have planned for the Mate S2? A new report reveals the Chinese giant could take some inspiration from Samsung this time around.

According to tech industry analyst Sun Changxu and a supply chain source, Huawei is set to launch a curved smartphone in the second half of 2016. The device apparently shares some similarities with Samsung’s Edge series, but still offers a “decidedly different” design. The analyst also hints that this could be a second-generation device, which is why we think it might be a follow-up to last year’s Mate S.

The Mate S was announced last September at the IFA conference, so it could be a while before its sequel is officially revealed. In the meantime, Huawei is expected to unveil its next flagship, the P9, at an event early next month.
