Overwatch’s PC and console versions will be balanced separately

What’s good for one gaming platform isn’t necessarily good for others. Blizzard, a company that’s partially made its name on polish, knows that’s the case when it comes to making games for the PC and console platforms.

In Overwatch‘s case, Blizzard will be balancing the PC version of the game separately from the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions.

Jeff Kaplan, Game Director on Overwatch, talked about balancing both versions in the YouTube video you see below this next quote. Here’s what he said.

“We don’t want to do anything that would harm PCs because of console tuning…

…And there’s been a lot of unease about ‘I play on this platform, which means the other one is going to ruin it for us’ and we wouldn’t do that.”

Here’s the full video in question.

Overwatch will release for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on May 24, 2016. We’ll have more on the game as it comes.
