Batman v Superman deleted scene gives us more Darkseid hints

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice left us with more questions than answers (we’ll have an explainer soon), and that may be because stuff had to be cut. In what is presumably an effort to provide more clarity, Warner Bros. has released a deleted scene, but all it does it confuse us even more.

If you haven’t seen Batman v Superman, note that spoilers follow.

Titled “Communion,” the scene appears to find Lex Luthor in the immediate aftermath of the Doomsday fight. In it, Luthor is found in the downed Kryptonian ship having some kind of powwow with an alien (maybe Steppenwolf?), and they’re surrounded by Mother Boxes; Mother Boxes originate from the world of Apokolips, which just so happens to be where Darkseid comes from. We actually got a brief glimpse of a Mother Box in the scene with Cyborg.

Frankly, the scene would have been worth including in the film since it’s so short, but perhaps Zack Snyder didn’t want to confuse audiences even more. Check it out above and let us know what you think is going on.
