Sunset Overdrive, Dead Space make up the best Xbox Games with Gold yet

The Xbox Games with Gold and PlayStation Plus’ game library are both great reasons to subscribe to each console’s respective services. Over the course of a year, you’ll get enough worthwhile games to make the subscription feel like a good investment. The services haven’t really ever delivered on the promise of big, impressive games appearing on our consoles in their full glory, though. Usually we’ll get one or maybe two big games along with something we’ve never heard of or something that’s just plain uninteresting.

For April, at least, that’s changing on Xbox One with what is easily the best Games with Gold lineup yet.

On the Xbox One side, gamers will get Telltale’s The Wolf Among Us, an excellent detective story based on the Fable comic books, and that’ll be available all month. Starting April 16, though, Sunset Overdrive becomes available. This was one of my very favorite games of 2014, if not my favorite, and one of the best reasons to own an Xbox One. The colors, weapons, and great writing all came together to make the game a huge treat.

On the Xbox 360 side – and remember, these are now backwards compatible, too – come Dead Space for the first half of April and Saints Row IV from April 16 – 30. Since Saints Row IV is available on Xbox One, it’s probably the least exciting of the four, but it’s still a big name release and, if you haven’t played it, it’s worth the time. Dead Space, though, was one of the best games of the previous generation, and one of the games I’ve definitely been waiting to see go backward compatible.

If you own an Xbox One and you don’t take advantage of this month’s games, you’re missing out. This is what Games with Gold was created for.
