Nintendo 3DS trailer hypes the RPGs coming in 2016

If you haven’t noticed, 2016 might be the best year for JRPGs since some time in the 90s. Nintendo’s UK office noticed, and they also noticed that the Nintendo 3DS is playing home to a lot of them.

So, they created a trailer specifically meant to hype RPGs… and “Epic Quests.” We assume that “Epic Quests” notation made room for Hyrule Warriors Legends, a game that I’d never call an RPG.

What else made the list of great RPGs playable on the 3DS in 2016? Here we go…

  1. Final Fantasy Explorers
  2. Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight
  3. Bravely Second End Layer
  4. Fire Emblem Fates
  5. Monster Hunter Generations
  6. Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past
  7. Yo-kai Watch

That trailer doesn’t even account for the likes of Stella Glow, a new JRPG that’s gathering somewhat of an under-the-radar following.

2016 is huge for JRPGs. Which are you looking forward to most? Is it on another platform entirely? Personally, I’m really pumped for Persona 5. That game is going to be nuts.
