LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition isn’t dead after all – Here’s how you can get one

LG sent us a review unit of the Watch Urbane 2nd Edition several months ago. The company ultimately said the device was “delayed indefinitely” with no clear plans for a future launch. It was a bummer because we really liked the Watch Urbane 2nd Edition. Good news: you’ll soon be able to buy one again.

AT&T said Monday that it will begin selling the Watch Urbane 2nd Edtion LTE for $99.99 on a new two-year contract when you buy an LG G5 with the company’s “Next” upgrade plans. That’s expensive and it seems a bit silly to sign a data contract for a watch, but you’ll be able to use it to place and receive calls even if your smartphone is nowhere nearby. And speaking of the G5, AT&T also announced that it will sell the phone beginning today for $22.97 per month with AT& Next 24.

We’re glad the Watch Urbane 2nd Edition is back and think a lot of folks will enjoy it, but just beware that you’re signing a two-year contract for a smartwatch that will be long outdated by the time the contract expires.
