The Oppo R9 and Oppo R9 Plus both feature 16-megapixel selfie cameras, easily surpassing most of the competition. Even crazier, the company actually picked a weaker 13-megapixel lens for the R9’s rear shooter, while the R9 Plus offers 16-megapixel cameras on both sides.
The Oppo R9 Plus also packs a 6-inch display with a slightly disappointing 1080p resolution. Under the hood, you’ll find a huge 4210mAh battery, 4GB of RAM, up to 128GB of storage, a mid-range Snapdragon 652 chip and a fingerprint sensor built into the home button.
The R9 is a little less powerful with a 5.5-inch 1080p display. It packs a 2850mAh battery, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage and MediaTek’s MT6755 chip. It also offers a fingerprint reader.
The Oppo R9 is set to launch in China for $430. It’s unclear if the company plans to sell its latest smartphones in the U.S., though we wouldn’t mind getting our hands on the R9 Plus.
