Toyota unveiled the all-new 2017 Toyota Highlander this week, the company’s latest mid-size sport utility vehicle that will make its debut later this year. The car offers several enhancements, including a new exterior modeling.

You should expect some extra muscle under the hood thanks to the car’s new 3.5-liter V6 Direct Injection Engine. You’ll also find a totally redesigned and more compact 8-speed automatic transmission, which Toyota says will ship standard on all 2017 Toyota Highlander models outfitted with the V6 engine.

Other features include a new Stop and Start Engine System that Toyota says will help conserve fuel, a new external grille design that will ship in either silver or chrome finishes, depending on the model you buy, new exterior colors (celestial silver metallic, toasted walnut pearl and salsa red pearl), and new safety features including lane departure alerts, pedestrian pre-collision systems and automatic high beam lights.

The 2017 Highlander should start to hit the market in Fall 2017. Several models will launch, including the SE, LE, LE Plus, XLE and Hybrid options.
