AMC’s Preacher, a project spearheaded by Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen, will make its debut on May 22 at 10 p.m. In case you missed it, here is the show’s first trailer.

Preacher is based on a series of comics of the same name and tells the story of a preacher who enlists the help of a vampire to find God. Below is the full synopsis.

Preacher tells the story of Jesse Custer, a preacher in the small Texas town of Annville. Custer is accidentally possessed by the supernatural creature named Genesis in an incident which killed his entire congregation and flattened his church. Genesis, the product of the unauthorized, unnatural coupling of an angel and a demon, is an infant with no sense of individual will. However, as it is composed of both pure goodness and pure evil, it might have enough power to rival that of God Himself. In other words, Jesse Custer, bonded to Genesis, may have become the most powerful being in the universe.

May 22 is going to be a pretty big day for AMC. Not only will viewers get to watch Preacher’s premiere episode but that will also be the day of Fear the Walking Dead’s mid-season finale. Unfortunately, Preacher’s second episode isn’t scheduled to air until June 5, so there’s going to be a week break before fans get another taste.
