Samsung fans in the U.K. who have pre-ordered a Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge will begin receiving their shiny new smartphone today. Many carriers and retailers have promised delivery three days before the official launch on Friday.
EE, O2, Three, Vodafone, and retailer Carphone Warehouse have all vowed to deliver Galaxy S7 pre-orders today — and many of them will come with a free Gear VR. The handsets won’t be making their official debuts in other markets until Friday, March 11.
However, many international customers have received theirs already. In the U.S., a number of carriers — including AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint — all started shipping pre-orders last week, and some customers received them over a week early.
Announced at Mobile World Congress last month, the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are Samsung’s most exciting smartphones to date. They combine improved designs that are water-resistant with the very latest specifications, including Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 820 processor, and a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera with incredibly impressive Dual Pixel technology.
They’re also Samsung’s first smartphones to run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box, and they bring back the expandable storage fans were familiar with up until last year.
