Blizzard’s highly anticipated arena-shooter Overwatch finally has a solid release date to look forward to, and fans can even play it sooner if they jump into a newly leaked beta test.
Twitter feed Blizzard Watch picked up the ad blitz all across IGN’s front page, and it states that those who pre-order the game will be able to join the last beta test on May 3. Should everything be running smoothly when it wraps up, the full game itself will launch on May 24.

Keep in mind that this ad blitz hasn’t been officially confirmed by Blizzard yet. Treat it as a rumor until the official announcement, even if the real-estate on IGN’s front page is as good a confirmation as any. Also remember that Overwatch is no longer a PC exclusive. The game will be coming to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as the Overwatch Origins Edition.
For those who are still unaware, Overwatch is Blizzard’s attempt to jump into the eSports scene with a purely multiplayer experience. Personally, I’m more interested in the excellent character designs than the game itself, but Blizzard’s shooter doesn’t look like a slouch.
