We made it, everyone. We’re in the future now. I know because No Man’s Sky finally has a release date. After what seems like forever, we know when we’ll be able to play it: June 21.
A couple days ago, an accidental blog post put a 3/3 date on Hello Games’ procedurally generated sci-fi universe, and we figured it was likely a date for pre-orders. Indeed, pre-orders are live for the game on sites like Amazon. The PlayStation Store hasn’t updated quite yet. If you’re a fan of collector’s editions, No Man’s Sky has an awesome-looking one on the way via iam8bit.
Priced at $149.99, the collector’s edition features some standard stuff – a pin, some stickers, a great-looking box. But there’s also an 8-inch tin replica with a display base and a backdrop. Check it out:
The game is also getting a standard boxed edition, an unusual move for an indie game, but not surprising how hard Sony’s been pushing the game. Both the boxed and digital editions of the game will retail for $59.99.
In just three and a half months, we’ll figure out how much fun infinite space can be – No Man’s Sky hits PC and PlayStation 4 on June 21.
