EA claims that the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One combine for 60 million sales

Once again, EA has put a figure out that is bound to give us a rare glimpse into the sales figures for the Xbox One. Speaking at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen stated that the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have combined this console generation for a grand total of 60 million units.

The last time EA spoke out about the combined sales of the two consoles was a month ago, when it stated that both Sony and Microsoft together shifted 55 million units. Using simple math, gamers were able to take the confirmed 36 million confirmed sales of the PlayStation 4 to determine that it was outselling the Xbox One at a nearly 2:1 ratio.

And seeing how Sony just loves to brag about its first place position and publish sales figures every other month, we might be able to look a bit deeper into these latest figures in the not too distant future.

5 million shared consoles over the course of a month is nothing to sneer at. Will this generation be able to topple the giant that was the PlayStation 2? At this rate, it might be possible.
