Call of Duty: Black Ops III’s multiplayer is free to play on PC this weekend

Maybe you’re not playing Far Cry Primal, Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2, SuperHot, or any of the other brand new games that came out in the last week or two. Maybe you just want to see what you missed out on. Whatever your reason is, if you have some free time this weekend, Activision has an idea for how they’d like you to spend it, and it’s not even going to cost you anything.

Hop onto Steam this weekend, and you’ll be able to download Call of Duty: Black Ops III’s multiplayer component. You can find it under Steam’s Weekend Deals as the Multiplayer Starter Pack. The free playtime is available through Sunday at 1 p.m. Pacific time. If you get hooked, the full game is available at 34 percent off – $39.59. You’ll also be raking in double XP all weekend, so if it does end up being your thing, you’ll get a fast start.

Black Ops III’s first expansion, which hit PlayStation 4 earlier this month, arrives just a few days later on March 3.
