HTC One M10 features a “very, very compelling” camera

Yesterday we got our first official confirmation that something big is coming from HTC, thanks to a teaser released by the company. Now the Taiwanese phone-maker has revealed even more about the upcoming flagship phone in a new interview.

The company wouldn’t offer many details on the upcoming handset, but it did have one bit of information to share while also taking a shot at the competition.

“We can confidently say that HTC will have a very, very compelling camera experience,” HTC’s CFO Chialin Chang told CNET. “We’re making this comment after we’ve seen what’s going on in the market.”

The One M10 allegedly packs a 12-UltraPixel rear camera with optical image stabilization and laser autofocus, and a 5-megapixel camera in front. It may also sport a 5.2-inch Quad HD display and a Snapdragon 820 processor, according to recent leaks and rumors.

The company wouldn’t confirm the phone’s name though yesterday’s teaser seemed to strongly suggest HTC will stick with its numbered naming scheme. At this point, we’d be surprised if the device is called anything besides the One M10.

HTC is expected to hold a stand-alone event in early April, so we may not get an official look at the One M10 for over a month. Then again, with all these recent hints coming from the company, it’s possible the device could arrive a little sooner than we thought.
