LG Rolling Bot first look: A home robot that can shoot laser beams!

LG unveiled several unique products during MWC 2016. One of them is the new “LG Rolling Bot” a home robot that’s meant to serve as a cat toy (yes, seriously) a home security system and more. We had a chance to check one out briefly and came away pretty impressed.

The Rolling Bot is relatively small.. maybe about the size of a large grapefruit, and can wheel itself around your house. If you own an LG smartphone, like the new LG G5, you’ll be able to control it using the camera’s built-in cameras, which allows it to serve as a security system, too. Think you have an intruder? Use the Rolling Bot to creep up and check out the back door.

The Rolling Bot also has a built-in speaker and microphone, so you can use it to see and chat with your kids while you’re on the other side of the road. And speaking of the family, you can even play with your cat, thanks to a built-in laser pointer that LG says was included primarily for this purpose. Seems silly, but you can’t forget about Fluffy.

LG hasn’t announced pricing, but the Rolling Bot is a really cool piece of hardware. I definitely want one.
