Galaxy S7 unveiled with stunning specs, launches March 11

Samsung just announced the Galaxy S7 and, gee, there’s a lot to cover here. You’re probably best checking out our hands-on for a deeper dive, but let’s just get you the quick and dirty details.

Most of the rumors were right. You’re looking at a Snapdragon 820 processor (or an Exynos chip in some markets), a 5.1-inch Quad HD display with always-on-functionality, 4GB of RAM, a 12MP camera with OIS, a microSD card slot for additional storage, a 3,000mAh battery, wireless charging, adaptive fast charging, microUSB — Samsung says this is for the Gear VR support — an IP 68 water-resistance rating for a splash in the pool, a beautiful glass and metal design and more. It’s a heck of a phone on paper, that’s for sure.

The Galaxy S7 will be available in gold platinum and black onyx in the United States with 32GB of storage. It’ll be available from AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and U.S. Cellular starting on February 23 when pre-orders open ahead of the full launch on March 11.

If you grab one between February 23 and March 18, Samsung will toss in a Gear VR and six games for free. Pricing for the phones has not yet been detailed by Samsung but we expect those details will come very soon from individual carriers.
