Samsung has announced a new Gear S2 Classic option with built-in 3G and 4G connectivity. The device will be available on AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon beginning March 11 — the same day Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S7.

The new Gear S2 Classic looks identical to the original, but it will only be available in black initially. With a cellular connection, the device can provide you with notifications and calls, and allow you to use apps, without being tied to a smartphone by Bluetooth.

“By bringing together fashionable design and connected functionality, this smartwatch gives consumers the freedom to leave their phones behind while enjoying a stylish, classic design,” said Gary Riding, senior vice president, product marketing at Samsung Electronics America.

The Gear S2 Classic 3G/4G (that is its official name) boasts a 1.2-inch circular display with 302 pixels-per-inch, a dual-core processor clocked at 1GHz, 4GB of internal storage, and 512MB of RAM. It also has a rotating bezel for navigation, a water-resistant design, and NFC.

Samsung hasn’t confirmed how much the Gear S2 Classic 3G/4G will cost yet — the company says that’s up to the carriers — so we’ll have to wait for its debut next month.
