Deadpool has become a runaway success, making history with $152.2 million over the four-day holiday weekend. It’s become such a success that’s it’s already getting a sequel, but you won’t have to wait that long to see the anti-hero again.
A petition over at Change.org is calling on all Deadpool fans to get the hero a gig as host of Saturday Night Live. That’s right, fans want Deadpool, not Ryan Reynolds, to host the late-night sketch comedy show. Given the fervor around the Merc With A Mouth right now, I wouldn’t be surprised to see this happen.
The petition has nearly 60,000 signatures and is getting a lot of attention from fans. While it would be great to see the character on SNL, much of his humor is probably too crude for a broadcast television audience. However, it would be hilarious to see the character participate in a sketch, perhaps about a dysfunctional superhero camp.
While there are many other more virtuous causes to show your support for, who wouldn’t want to see Deadpool host SNL? Haven’t seen the movie? Check out our review right here.
