Gmailify will add new superpowers to your Yahoo and Hotmail accounts

Starting today, Google is bringing Gmail-like features to other email services.

The search giant on Wednesday detailed a new update inside of the Gmail app for Android that will “Gmailify” your Yahoo! Mail or Hotmail/Outlook accounts.

The basic pitch is this: Get all the benefits of Gmail without changing your email address. Things like spam protection, inbox organization and even Google Now cards.

If that sounds like something you’re interested in trying, the new Gmailify feature can be turned on inside the Gmail app. Not feeling it? Just unlink your account. Simple as that.

The video above shows Gmailify in action. It’s a great feature for anyone looking to get the perks of Gmail without actually having a Gmail account.
