Star Ocean 5’s Fiore Brunelli – The witch with a patch-work outfit

Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness is home to a bunch of typical JRPG heroes out to save the galaxy, and we’ve gotten to know a few of them through tri-Ace’s recent character trailers. Now we have a chance to meet Fiore Brunelli, the most alluring oddball of them all.

No doubt, her questionable fashion and revealing choice of clothing has pushed a label of “sexy” onto her, but it’s not just that.  The bushy green hair, the hollow green eyes, the matching skirt and cap, of course the patchwork clothes and assortment of colorful accessories, and the general atmosphere around her. Everything about this character is just strange, making her far and away more interesting than the pile of cliches we’ve seen so far.

Fiore is a magic student at the Kingdom of Langdauq’s Signeturge Research Institute, and she is one of the top minds in her field. The awkward pattern covering her body is actually a way for her to show off different symbols and magical tattoos. So yes, it does serve some practical purpose!

My guess is that she’ll wedge her way into the party playing the role of a big sister to the game’s leading female, Miki. We’ve seen this stereotypical storyline before.

Be sure to check out  trailers for the protagonist Fidel, his sub-heroes Miki and Victor, and their paternal mentor figure Emmerson for more information on these intergalactic heroes. Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness launches in 2016 for the PlayStation 4.
