Rise of the Tomb Raider won best written game of 2015, beating Witcher 3 along the way

Over the weekend, the Videogame Writers Caucus voted on the Writer’s Guild of America’s best written game of 2015. Rise of the Tomb Raider won the award.

It was nominated alongside Assassin’s Creed SyndicatePillars of Eternity and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Having played three of the four nominated titles myself, I’m rather surprised that Rise of the Tomb Raider won. Maybe the judges decided that the game with the tightest consecutive narrative should pick up the award? I mean, Witcher 3 seems like the clear winner in that pack, but I suppose the main story can get lost in the world itself.

I’m just guessing here. Witcher 3 should probably have won, but that’s all good. Kudos to Crystal Dynamics. Rise of the Tomb Raider is a great game. The best written? I’m not sure…
