Mother 3 is coming to the West. At least, that’s what all of the rumors and reports would have us believe.
The localization of the game has been all the talk on Twitter in gaming circles over the last day, and now Eurogamer has stepped up to confirm that they, too, have heard the news.
We won’t be citing the Twitter users who spilled the beans on this, since some of them have since left the platform citing all of the heat they’ve caught from spreading the word. Eurogamer, however, is fair game. They write that they were “told the release is finally happening – via Wii U Virtual Console – to celebrate Mother 3‘s 10th anniversary of release in Japan.”
I’ve personally never played Mother 3, but I’ve heard that it’s incredible. With the release of EarthBound and then EarthBound Beginnings (Mother 2 and Mother, respectively), Nintendo’s definitely been drumming up to releasing the entire trilogy. The developer hasn’t confirmed these rumors, but I totally see them as plausible.
