Atlus releases browser-based 8-bit Odin Sphere demake

Atlus promised an 8-bit Odin Sphere game after a Twitter campaign reached 28,888 retweets, and the company has just delivered. Fans can check out the browser-based retro demake over at the company’s official website.

Don’t go expecting a full on remake, though. This game is sort of an endless Horde Mode with players controlling Gwendolyn and battling random enemies for as long as she can stay alive. Killing enemies will grant experience, allowing her to become stronger as the game progresses. Gwendolyn’s move-set doesn’t extend beyond a swing of her spear and a glide through the air.

The game is entirely in Japanese, but don’t expect much of a language barrier. Give it a few run-throughs, and let us know what you think. Be sure to check out Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir when it launches on June 7 for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PS Vita.
