Nintendo’s sales report shows amiibo, Splatoon, Mario Maker all crushing it

Nintendo is doing quite well for itself in the closing days of the Wii U. An earnings report collecting data from April 2015 to December 2015 points to a healthy growth in three of its current biggest products: amiibo, Super Mario Maker, and Splatoon.

Splatoon is showing up as the most impressive of the bunch, proving to be the surprise hit that the Wii U console always needed. It has secured 4.06 million sales worldwide with an attachment rate of 33 percent when compared to the Wii U’s 12.6 million lifetime sales. Not bad for an original IP on a console that has been struggling to reach new audiences.

Super Mario Maker also clocked in with an impressive 3.34 million sales since its launch in September.

And of course, one can’t talk about Nintendo’s successes without mentioning amiibo, which is currently outselling its video games. To date, the company has sold over 20.5 million figurines since the line started in February 2015 and 21.5 million cards.

Overall, Nintendo’s profits dropped from ¥59,515 million ($493M)  to ¥40,558 million ($336M). See the full list of figures below.
