Amazon Echo gets fancy new movie, Super Bowl features

Amazon is at it again with another update for Echo to squeeze even more potential out of its smart speaker. Once the new features hit you’ll be able to ask Alexa, the company’s voice-controlled assistant, for information on movie showtimes and football scores.

If you feel in taking in a movie this weekend Alexa has you covered. Just ask what’s playing currently for the full list, or drill down for more information on a specific film. If you already know which movie you want to see, just ask Alexa for showtimes, or try asking what scary movies are playing this weekend. Unfortunately, one thing Amazon Echo still can’t do is actually buy the tickets for you.

If you prefer to spend your weekends at home watching football Amazon still has you covered. Alexa can now answer a variety of questions and even predict who will win the big game. Just ask “Alexa, who will win the Super Bowl?” to hear her prediction. You can also ask for the winners of any upcoming game, or get a score update on a specific matchup.

The update should be available now, though it could take a day or two to reach everyone.
