Nintendo has officially confirmed the release date for Star Fox Zero on the Wii U.

The title, Produced by Shigeru Miyamoto and Directed by both Yugo Hayashi and Yusuke Hashimoto, will release on April 22, 2016 in North America. Japan will see Star Fox Zero on April 21, while Europe will see it on a to be announced date in that same month.

This game is being developed by both Nintendo EPD and Platinum Games. Why Platinum? Because they seem to have a hand in everything these days, don’t they. The Japanese developer has certainly come a long way.

Finally, Nintendo briefly announced that Star Fox Zero will feature some sort of amiibo support. Whether that involves a new batch of amiibo featuring Slippy or stuff with the pre-existing figures remains to be seen. We also don’t know what, exactly, the amiibo will do. Stay tuned for more on that front.

We’ll have news on Star Fox Zero as it comes.
