After the solid but ultimately pretty boring Far Cry 4, the upcoming Far Cry Primal looks like it could be a breath of fresh air for the decade-old shooter series. Each new trailer has done a good job of keeping me interested in the game and that continues to be the case. This new trailer highlights the protagonist, Takkar, and his adversary Ull. We get a peek at some of the dangerous animals Takkar will have at his disposal as he tries to help his tribe survive.
One of the more interesting things is that the game seems to be committed to keeping the dialogue in whatever language the characters are speaking, rather than shifting into English for ease of viewing. That suggests to me that the team behind Primal is all-in and that Ubisoft is fully backing it.
I hope Far Cry Primal can live up to all the hopes I’m putting on it when it releases a month from now (February 23) on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and March 1 on PC.
