Superman proclaims “The Bat is dead” in new Batman v Superman clip

A brand new Batman v Superman clip has been revealed, shedding more light on that infamous “do you bleed?” scene. I have to say, I’ve sided with Superman this entire time, as the earlier trailers made him appear unfairly accused of wanting to destroy mankind. But after seeing today’s clip, maybe Batman has a right to be paranoid.

More than anything, the clip provides insight in to Superman’s state of mind, which seems to be that of an arrogant God who is there to dole out his own brand of justice. Superman has seemingly designated himself judge, jury, and executioner without anyone actually asking for his help.

“Next time they shine your light in the sky, don’t go to it,” Superman says to Batman. “The Bat is dead. Bury it. Consider this mercy.”

Undeterred, Batman says, “Tell me: Do you bleed? You will.”

This isn’t the first time Superman has threatened to take Batman’s life, hanging his superiority over the Dark Knight’s head. While Batman’s motivation to initially go after Superman might be because of what occurred in Man of Steel, Batman might also sense that Superman is letting his role as savior go to his head.

The release of Batman v Superman is now just over two months away, and judging by this clip, audiences will be in for a great fight come March 25.
