New Lumia smartphone certified ahead of Mobile World Congress

Microsoft is expected to reveal the mid-range Lumia 650 in the near future, and it looks like the company may have a second Windows 10 smartphone up its sleeve. Another more powerful device was recently spotted passing through Chinese certification.

The device appears to sport a 5.4-inch 1080p display, though conflicting reports suggest the screen could actually come in at 5.7 inches across. It also packs a Snapdragon 617 processor, 16GB of storage and 2GB of RAM. We assume it will run Windows 10 Mobile.

It’s possible this could be the allegedly cancelled Lumia 850 or even a follow-up to the Lumia 730. Maybe a Lumia 750?

Either way it looks like Microsoft will be targeting the mid-range market with its next smartphone. As for that rumored Surface Phone, we’re still not expecting it to arrive until late 2016. In the meantime we’re curious to see what else the company has planned.
