If you thought the Oculus Rift was an expensive way to get into the virtual reality game with its recently revealed $599 price tag, think again. The HTC Vive, the one being developed by both HTC and Valve, is reportedly set to cost $1,500.
Android Authority has the report from Focus Taiwan, another site that sources the estimate from foreign brokerages. Needless to say, this is a rumor as of now.
The HTC Vive will go up for pre-order on February 29, 2016. It’s worth noting that we didn’t learn about the Oculus Rift’s official price until it was officially up for pre-order last week, so we might not hear the real word on HTC’s VR entry until the last day of February.
HTC has been clear about the fact that this headset would be premium. $1,500, though? What do you think about that price point?
