Premiere Of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" - Red Carpet

Star Wars: The Force Awakens had some competition this weekend, but it won its fourth weekend at the box office.

1. Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Star Wars: The Force Awakens had a good week as it became the highest grossing domestic film ever and hit the number three spot on the all time world record list.

As for the weekend, the film took in $41.63M domestically and set a record in China this weekend with $56.3M. It now stands at $812M domestic and $921M foreign for a global total of $1.73B. The ability to surpass Avatar as the all time highest grossing film is still being discussed by some analysts.

2. The Revenant

Leonardo DiCaprio’s latest film actually won the day on Friday, but the family friendly nature of Star Wars won out in the end. The new film, however, still had a very healthy weekend and took in $38M.

3. Daddy’s Home

Daddy’s Home, the latest comedy from Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg took in a very nice $15M this weekend for a new domestic total of $116.3M off of an estimated budget of $50M.

4. The Forest
