Netflix on Thursday quietly dropped a new teaser for Daredevil season 2, using it to refresh our memories as to what happened when we last left Matt Murdock and his legal team. It’s clear his time serving up vigilante justice has taken its toll, to the point where the guilt is weighing heavy on his conscious. But, as the trailer shows, there will be no rest for the weary, as the Punisher’s presence is looming large in Hell’s Kitchen.
We thought Netflix had the gall to drop the second season on the day DC’s Batman v Superman was hitting theaters, when in reality Daredevil is hitting the service on March 18. That means you’ll have a full week to binge before Zack Snyder’s superhero showdown hits theaters. I mean, that’s the best decision for Netflix; why go up against such a hotly anticipated movie? It would be doing a great disservice to Daredevil, which has become one of Netflix’s most popular shows.
Check out the trailer above if you want a quick recap of season 1. There are some very clear religious references in the video, and that’s besides the obvious fact that we’re inside of a church. I’m glad Netflix refrained from showing any footage of the Punisher, instead keeping him out of frame to build tension. He’s out there, and he’s very active. How will Daredevil deal with him, and what kind of agreement will they come to?
We’ll get all the answers when the show hits Netflix on March 18.
