Rick and Morty getting a Pokémon-like iOS and Android game, out next week

Adult Swim’s two biggest stars, Rick and Morty, have a new game heading to mobile: Pocket Mortys.

Pocket Mortys, from the brief gameplay offered in the tweet below, looks to be a riff on Pokemon, with mad scientist Rick Sanchez as the trainer and his grandson as the many pokemon, with the various Mortys pulled from the many parallel universes the series inhabits.

The game is set to release on January 14 and has been confirmed by series creator Justin Roiland to be hitting both iOS and Android that day. The game will be free to play, and, according to Adult Swim Games’ producer Chris Johnston, the game should prove more substantial than Rick and Morty‘s previous mobile outings. Dan Harmon, creator of Community and co-creator of Rick and Morty, provides some voiceover work for the game as well.

Maybe this will shake me of my Fallout Shelter problem.
