2017 Volvo S90 first to offer semi-autonomous features as standard

Volvo’s gorgeous S90, announced back in early December, is already going to offer some of the finer features available to drivers. If it it’s anything like a sedan-version of the XC90, it’ll be ultra luxurious, ultra safe and ultra smart. Even better, it’s going to be semi-autonomous, and you won’t have to pay more for that feature.

Volvo announced on Wednesday that the S90 will ship with its all new Pilot Assist software, and that the feature will be standard for all buyers. That makes it the first car with semi-autonomous driving offered as a standard option. You won’t need to pay out the nose for some of the latest safety tech out there — though we suspect the S90 will at least come with a price tag to match its luxurious offering.

The S90 is set to launch later this year, and we can’t wait to get behind the wheel.
