Samsung, Xiaomi and countless other companies are expected to release new devices this year with a Snapdragon 820 chip under the hood. But the first phone to pack Qualcomm’s new processor comes to us from an unexpected source: Chinese video streaming giant Letv.
The Le Max Pro was unveiled by Qualcomm CEO Steven Mollenkopf on Tuesday at CES. It offers SenseID fingerprint security and multi-gigabit sharing between devices thanks to the Snapdragon 820.

We still don’t know much about the Le Max Pro. Letv hasn’t announced when it plans to launch the device, how much it might cost or when it will be available. Most of the specs and hardware are a mystery as well. Hopefully we’ll learn more soon.
Qualcomm also noted that this is just the first in a deluge of Snapdragon 820 devices. Mollenkopf said the new processor is set to power 80 upcoming products. That number will likely continue to grow as the year continues, at least until the company’s next big chip is announced.
