Galaxy S7 leak reveals new specs, price and launch plans

Galaxy S7 rumors stop for no man (or press conference). Even with CES 2016 in full swing we’re still learning more about Samsung’s upcoming flagship phone, this time courtesy of SamMobile and what it says are trustworthy supply chain sources.

According to the latest leak the new phone will come in two different models. A smaller 5.1-inch Galaxy S7 and a larger 5.5-inch Galaxy S7 Edge with a curved display. The report doesn’t mention the rumored Galaxy S7 Plus, suggesting Samsung may save this super-sized option for later in the year.

SamMobile also notes that both the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge will include a microSD slot, a popular feature that was noticeably missing from last year’s Samsung flagship phones. Based on earlier leaks we may also get USB-C, an upgraded camera, a Snapdragon 820 or Exynos 8890 processor, and a waterproof design.

The report also offers up possible pricing for the new phones, which seem to be in line with previous models. The Galaxy S7 will apparently start at 699 Euros with 32GB of storage, while the S7 Edge may cost at least 799. U.S. pricing will probably be pretty similar.

Both phones are expected to debut in late February at Mobile World Congress. SamMobile claims the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge will also be available to purchase before the end of that month, making it one of the company’s quickest releases ever.
