It’s starting to look like Samsung is going to have a busy first quarter. We’re expecting the company to unveil its Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge sometime in February, an 8-inch tablet is among rumors and, now, it seems like the company is also building a 12-inch Windows 10 slate.
SamMobile recently spotted the secret tablet as it gained its Wi-Fi approval rating. The company has not suggested that it has any plans to release a Windows 10 tablet, so we find the certification particularly interesting. It seems, at least given Samsung’s bevy of accessories for its Android tablets, that the device will be capable of doubling as a laptop if paired with a keyboard and mouse – perhaps similar to how the Surface Pro works.
SamMobile said the tablet will likely pack an S Pen – again drawing the easy comparison to a Surface Pro – an Intel Core M processor, a 2450 x 1600-pixel display (though the site says a 3840 x 2400-pixel resolution is also in the works) and 4GB of RAM.
CES, which kicks off next week, seems like the perfect place to let this new tablet loose if Samsung has it ready in time.
