Amazon had a record breaking holiday, guess the most popular device

Amazon on Monday said that it had a record-breaking holiday season when it comes to sales of Amazon devices, Amazon Prime shipments (more than 200 million items in total) and Amazon Original Series viewership.

Can you guess the most popular item sold? Nope, not the three-wolf moon t-shirt.

The new Fire tablet was the hottest item sold by Amazon this holiday. It retails for right around $50 but was priced well below that during various pre-holiday sales, so you can see why it might have been so attractive. The most popular Prime Now items sold were Simply Orange Juice, Bounty Paper Towels and Haribo Gold-Bears.

Amazon said its series The Man in the High Castle was the most watched show on Prime video during the holiday season, and that viewers overall more than quadrupled the number of hours they spent watching Prime video. I can actually count myself among that group of The Man in the High Castle viewers – I recently finished the series and loved it.

Finally, Amazon also revealed a pretty hilarious stat: the company’s Prime Now service experienced its “busiest day ever” on December 24 – revealing just how many people actually wait until the very last minute to buy Christmas gifts.
