Last week, developer Stoic Studio announced the release date for their console versions of The Banner Saga. The turn-based tactical game is hitting the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in January.
That announcement offered nothing on the PS Vita front, a platform the game was announced for alongside the PS4 version. When asked by tons of fans to clarify the status of the PS Vita port, Stoic was pushed to announce that it was being shelved indefinitely. The reason? It was proving far too expensive to produce.
Gamers responded by offering encouragement (and, assuredly, criticism) to Stoic in the wake of the news. So, Stoic, publisher Versus Evil and Sony got together and made a deal. Sony’s Gio Corsi announced the news on Twitter.

The Banner Saga is being made for the PS Vita once more. Hopefully, it sells enough to make all this extra effort worth while. If you own a Vita and were part of the vocal demanding this port, you should probably buy it once it launches. If not, why bother?
