One M9 Android Marshmallow update begins

HTC’s vice president of product management Mo Versi recently announced a couple of new updates coming to the One M9 and the One A9.

Versi confirmed that the One M9 is finally set to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow, bringing the phone onto the latest major release of Android. Users should expect new features like Now on Tap and other refinements. Additionally, Versi confirmed that the new One A9 is also going to start getting its first big update to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, which should fix bugs and performance issues present in the first version of Android 6.0.

Both updates only apply to the unlocked versions of the phones, but this does suggest that carriers will have the right software to begin testing for broader rollouts in the future. Look for the update over the next 24 hours.
