We’ve seen early LG G5 information already, but a new post from Reddit user mobile_leaks may have lifted the curtain on this upcoming flagship. We have no means of verifying whether or not this leak is legit or not, but mobile_leaks, via Reddit, did provide a picture of what is purportedly the device’s rear camera, along with a screenshot of the phone’s hardware info.
Below are the rumored specs:
- 5.3-inch Quad HD display
- Full metal body
- MicroSD card and SIM slot on the right
- IR blaster on top
- 3GB of RAM
- Snapdragon 820
- Dual camera setup: 16mp + 8mp + heart rate+laser focus sensor in the back
- 8-megapixel front-facing camera
- USB Type-C
- Pressure sensor
- Fingerprint reader (same as V10)
That sound like a dream phone to you? The leaker, who seemingly only saw the prototype for a brief moment, doesn’t provide concrete battery details, but says it likely won’t be removable. Whether it will have wireless charging remains to be seen.
We’re not quite sure what LG has planned for the dual camera setup, but if it’s anything like what HTC did in the M8, we’ll probably see LG allow users to snap pictures and then adjust focus after they’ve been taken. Either that or the setup will be used for HDR purposes.
Finally, the leaker mentions that the software included in the device “feels like stock Android and very fast,” which is great news for folks who don’t appreciate LG’s software tweaks. Mobile_leaks also wasn’t sure about a possible release date, saying the product he saw probably wasn’t final.
We have run into LG G5 rumors before, with a recent report claiming the device would launch in April followed by a V10 sequel in late 2016. We really liked what LG did with the V10, and can’t wait to see how the G5 turns out.
