To no one’s surprise, Star Wars: The Force Awakens won the weekend at the box office.

- Fastest to $100 million
It took in $247M domestically beating the record set by Jurassic World this summer of $208M. Internationally it took in $279M and stands at $528M globally off of an estimated $200M budget.
2. Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip
The fourth Alvin and the Chipmunks movie took in $14.4M this weekend, a new low opening for the series.
The new Tina Fey & Amy Poehler comedy opened lower than their last film, Baby Mama, with $13.42M off of a $30M budget.
4. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 took in $5.65M to bring its domestic total $254.43M, and a global total of $595.53M.
Creed, the latest installment in the Rocky series, fell to fifth place in its fourth weekend with $5M. Domestically it now stands at $87.9M.
