Captain America: Civil War concept art is a thing of beauty

The world’s attention may currently be on Star Wars, but don’t forget Disney has another enormous blockbuster coming out early next year in Captain America: Civil War. And to help promote the film, Marvel let Total Film publish some neat concept art that shows the different sides duking it out. The biggest surprise? Seeing Vision and Scarlet Witch going at it. (Oh, and poor Hawkeye is just kind of off by himself not really doing much.)

As we saw from the movie’s first trailer, the teams are divided exactly as expected, with Black Widow, War Machine, and Vision on Team Iron Man; meanwhile, Hawkeye, Falcon, Ant-Man, Scarlet Witch and Winter Soldier are on Team Captain America. The picture also shows Black Panther fighting on the side of Iron Man, but his motives might not necessarily align with that team’s insistence on signing the Sokovia Accords.

Also worth noting is that Total Film refers to War Machine as War Hammer. Not sure if that was an intentional change or if it was just accidental. The art is beautiful either way, and gives us a detailed look at the different characters appearing in Civil War. As expected, Spider-Man is nowhere to be found, which means Marvel Studios is probably going to save his reveal for when the actual movie hit theaters.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Captain America: Civil War is set for a May 6, 2016 release.
