With the sheer number of collections, remakes, and reboots currently going on in gaming, it seems like a foregone conclusion that Ubisoft would release a collection of their now-annual Assassin’s Creed games. Interestingly, we haven’t heard even a hint of it until now.
What we have is pretty tenuous, but it suggests the collection is on the way, or, at the very least, up for serious consideration.
A NeoGAF user spotted the new registration of the domain ‘assassinscreedcollection.com,’ registered by Ubisoft.
This could be Ubisoft simply protecting the Assassin’s Creed brand and registering all the potential domain names they think squatters could capture. We’re thinking it’s the first hint of a collection, though. The collection could be simply the three Ezio-centric games, or it could even include the other numbered titles like Assassin’s Creed III and IV. The third possibility is that this is an alternate URL for their upcoming Assassin’s Creed Chronicles collection, which puts the three Chronicles side-scrolling games on one disc.
Ubisoft will likely offer no comment on the news for now, but we could see more of this in the next six and a half months as we approach E3 2016.
