Verizon Fios app now streams DVR content

Verizon is giving its Fios customers yet another reason to reconsider cutting the cord. The company announced on Monday that Fios Quantum TV and Fios Internet customers can stream the content stored on their DVR down to their smartphone or tablet. So long as you have a good enough Internet connection, you’ll be able to watch those missed episodes of¬†Modern Family¬†you’ve been meaning to catch up on.

Some of you may have already noticed this feature, as Verizon officially started to push out the option to customers last month. It’s now available to everyone, however, so long as you have the Fios Mobile App on your device and subscribe to the aforementioned services. The app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store or the iTunes App Store, and provides a quick peak at the content that’s stored on your DVR.

Verizon says you can watch “nearly all” of your recorded shows, which suggests that perhaps there’s some licensing issues for some of the content. The app also provides access to on-demand content, the ability to manage recording, an option to use the app as a remote and more.
