The Shin Megami Tensei creators must really have it in for the city of Tokyo. Every single game in the main franchise goes to great lengths to reduce Japan’s booming metropolis to rubble, but Shin Megami Tensei IV left fans a little short after only showing the aftermath of this latest apocalypse.

Fear not, my friends. Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final is here to help. Witness how Tokyo meets its fate once again in the latest anime trailer for Atlus’ upcoming Nintendo 3DS JRPG.

The year 203X. The gods’ war devastated and transformed near-future Tokyo into a demon capital. As the battle between Lucifer and Merkabahentered its final phase, the demon Krishna appeared. Spearheading the “Polytheistic Gods Alliance,” Krishna declared war on Lucifer, Merkabah, and the monotheistic gods. Mankind gets embroiled in a terrible new war. When a young boy is made a “god killer” by the power of the demon Daguza, what path will he choose?

And with the collapse, our new protagonist is born. The green-hued anti-hero has been the face of this expansion ever since it was first announced, and he’s looking more and more interesting with each reveal.

Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final faces a long list of competition on the JRPG front in 2016, but don’t discount it just because it is on the Nintendo 3DS. The original is still among the best titles that the platform has to offer, and its development studio is one of the most talented in the business. This is not one to overlook.

Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final launches in Japan on Feb. 10, but no date has been confirmed for the North American market just yet.
