OnePlus 2 “Mini” leaks with 4.6-inch screen and powerful specs

The next phone from Chinese upstart OnePlus could be its smallest yet, but it might also offer flagship-level hardware. A new benchmark from the company suggests it could be working on a 4.6-inch handset with plenty of power under the hood.

Specifically, the new phone packs a 4.6-inch 1080p display, a Snapdragon 810 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter and Android 5.1 Lollipop. Besides the pint-sized screen, those specs are pretty much identical to the OnePlus 2. So is it possible we’re looking at a new variant of the flagship phone. Maybe a OnePlus 2… Mini?

There’s clearly still an audience hungry for phones that measure less than 5 inches across. After all, Apple sells plenty of its 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s. Sony’s Xperia Z5 Compact also offers a similar setup, though the company’s struggled to break into the U.S. and other markets.

OnePlus already has a pretty big international fan base so it’s well positioned to push a smaller 4.6-inch Android phone. Of course, there’s no guarantee this alleged device will ever see the light of day, but if it does we’d certainly be interested in trying one out.
