Well that was fast. Sometimes carrier testing can delay software updates for phones much longer than an OEM might like, but that wasn’t the case with the first major update for the BlackBerry Priv on AT&T.
BlackBerry’s director of software product management, Michael Clewley, tweeted on Monday that the update is now officially live for AT&T BlackBerry Priv units. The software patch first rolled out to unlocked units back on December 1, introducing software and performance fixes, as well as camera improvements. Anyone suffering from stability issues should see those solved after applying the software update, too, and the latest Android security patches should also be included.
Tomorrow we should see even more updates. That’s when BlackBerry promised that it will also push out new versions of Hub, Contacts, DTEK, the keyboard and the camera app, which are available as standalone downloads in the Google Play Store.
